Red dot optics have become increasingly popular in the past several years. Many shooters have made or are currently making the transition from iron sights to red dot sights. Red Dot Optic Fundamentals is designed to give students the skills necessary to effectively transition from iron sights to red dot sights (RDS). Students will learn the features of various RDS optics, theory of operation, proper zeroing, routine maintenance, and efficient employment. Dry fire and live fire drills will help the student develop proper techniques to safely and effectively utilize a RDS on their handgun along with a training methodology to continue to develop those skills.

- Zero techniques and confirmation at various distances
- Grip and stance considerations
- Presentation and finding the dot
- Tracking the dot (recoil management) and analysis of shooting errors
- Reacquiring the dot after reloading
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:
- A serviceable, quality semiautomatic pistol
- A quality red dot sight mounted with an approximate zero
- A quality kydex holster with trigger full guard coverage & good retention (OWB or IWB)
- A quality belt (EDC or Duty)
- 2 magazines (minimum). More is better
- 1 pistol magazine pouch/holder/holster or NeoMag (minimum)
- 250 rounds of range ammunition specific to your pistol (minimum)
- Basic firearms maintenance & cleaning kit
