Ozark Dynamics

The Women’s Handgun and Self Defense Fundamentals class is for brand new shooters as well as experienced shooters. The main objective is for you to develop confidence in yourself in order to become comfortable with your handgun. When you are confident and comfortable with your handgun, you are well on your way to becoming a confident and competent shooter with the skills and mindset necessary to defend those you love.

Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and built upon. The course will begin in the classroom where you will learn the basics of defensive handguns. Many courses tell you what to use. Ozark Dynamics wants you to be educated as to the choices available to you. Topics covered in the classroom include:

• Common equipment: belts, holsters, and accessories
• Common types of handguns and how they operate
• Differences between semiautomatic handguns and revolvers and the pros and cons of each
• Malfunctions
• Ammunition types
• Firearms handling skills
• Defensive handgun fundamentals
• The law and the use of deadly force
• Defensive mindset and intuitive decision making
• Situational awareness and conflict avoidance
• The Myth of the Bad Guy

You will be in the classroom for approximately four hours. You will then head outside to our first class firing range. On the range, you will receive a thorough safety and medical briefing and then it will be time to shoot!

On the range you will put into practice the topics discussed in the classroom. We will start with basic, single shot drills in a relaxed environment and proceed into more complex drills involving multiple shots.
